Occupational Therapy

At Tiny Notes, our Occupational Therapy programs help children build essential skills for daily living, fostering independence, confidence, and growth through fun, goal-focused activities.

What is OT?

Occupational Therapy (OT) is a specialized approach designed to help individuals develop, improve, or regain the skills they need to engage in meaningful everyday activities. For children, this often includes enhancing their ability to participate in self-care, play, school tasks, and social interactions. By focusing on these foundational skills, OT empowers children to become more independent and confident in their daily lives.

OT sessions are highly individualized, starting with an in-depth assessment to identify a child’s strengths, challenges, and goals. Therapists then create a tailored plan that uses engaging, age-appropriate activities to build critical developmental skills.

Key areas of focus in OT include:

  • Fine Motor Skills: Improving hand strength, coordination, and dexterity for tasks like writing, cutting, and buttoning clothes.

  • Gross Motor Skills: Enhancing strength, balance, and coordination for activities like jumping, running, and climbing.

  • Sensory Integration: Supporting children in processing sensory information (like sounds, textures, and movement) to improve focus, emotional regulation, and comfort in their environment.

  • Daily Living Skills: Teaching practical skills such as dressing, eating, and using tools for greater independence.

OT is especially beneficial for children facing developmental delays, sensory processing challenges, physical disabilities, or neurological conditions. It can also help children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention challenges, or behavioral difficulties.

At Tiny Notes, our Occupational Therapy programs provide a nurturing and playful environment where children can build the skills they need to thrive, ensuring both short-term success and long-term growth. We partner with families to create meaningful goals and celebrate every step forward.

At Tiny Notes, we strive to make the intake process as seamless as possible for families seeking Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services.
